I Like Me by Nancy Carlson
I Like Me, by Nancy Carlson, is a delightful children’s book the promotes self-love and acceptance in even the youngest of readers. The story follows a cheerful pig who takes us on a journey as she admires her own strengths and wonderful qualities. Along the way, the main character demonstrates how to show self-love through positive affirmations, taking care of herself both inside and out, and how to tackle life’s challenges with a true growth mindset!
The use of simple language and vibrant, playful illustrations allows for even the youngest of readers to easily relate to the cheerful pig and capture the true essence of Carlson’s message. The pig’s self-affirming phrases, such as “I’m my own best friend!” and “I like the way I look!” are valuable tools for promoting self-esteem and teaching children the importance of loving themselves.
I Like Me is a truly remarkable story that helps to build a strong foundation in social-emotional learning for young children and is a must have on your child’s bookshelf. Its story of self-love and acceptance is a true testament to the importance of taking care of our inner self and showing kindness, grace, and patience to ourselves.
Buddy is proud to give this story 5 feathers for WELLNESS and KINDNESS and hopes that you and your child will sit down to enjoy this story together and remember to show love and acceptance to all of the things that make YOU one-of-a-kind!
