We chose Cover the City Project because of everything they do for the community. Their dedication to helping people in need and even stepping in to support other charities when they need it really stood out to us as a staff. That kind of generosity and collaboration reflects the kind of impact we value. We believe their mission and actions truly exemplify our core values of Kindness and Wellness, which is why we felt they were the perfect organization to support.
We support Cover the City Project in several ways throughout the year to help meet the needs of our community. Our staff and students participate in quarterly collection drives that focus on items the organization regularly distributes. This year, we will be collecting socks in April, canned food in September, and blankets in December to help provide essential items to those in need.
In addition to our donation drives, our staff and students also plan to volunteer at a food pantry, giving us the opportunity to serve the community directly. Our school also serves as a drop-off location for donations, which helps encourage greater involvement from families and the surrounding community. Through these efforts, we hope to continue supporting the important work that Cover the City does for those in need.

Learn How Cover The City Project Came To Be!

Cover the City Project started in 2013 when Amanda Anderson noticed a homeless man sleeping on a bench behind the High Point Krispy Kreme. She watched the man for weeks and then around Christmas time she rallied some friends to pull together their resources to give this man coats, scarves, blankets, and gift cards to local restaurants.
After delivering these items to this man, Amanda went to her friend Leslie Graham at Open Door Ministries and asked how she could help those in need. Blankets were an immediate need at the time and continue to be during the winter months.
Thus, Cover the City was formed to be able to support the homeless population in shelters and those who do not utilize the shelters during the coldest times of the year. Every November we host a blanket drive throughout our different chapters to collect new and gently used blankets for those in need. Our mission is to cover cities literally and physically with warmth and love.
“We are proud to share that feedback from our charity has been overwhelmingly positive. They have expressed that our sponsorship has made a meaningful difference in their work and the lives of those they serve. The support from our community has been incredible in making our donation drives successful.”

“We were invited to the Community of Warmth 2025 for the first time. The families appreciate our efforts to give back to the community, and the children enjoy supporting it as well.”
